Days 1-4: Italy Itinerary Kicks Off in Rome — Ancient Ruins, Spa Days & Iconic Eats
The trip kicked off in Rome, where every corner looked like a postcard and every meal was a main character moment. From ancient ruins to candlelit dinners in tucked-away trattorias, we soaked up history, carbs, and a little vino with every step.
Pro tip: Pack comfy shoes—you will be walking 20,000 steps a day without realizing it.
Looking for a stylish stay in Rome? I have curated a list of my favorite hotels here.

Day 1: Arrive in Rome
We touched down in the morning and checked in just in time to grab coffee and take our first walk through the Eternal City. The agenda was light (on purpose) so we could ease into the time zone and soak up the energy. Dinner at CiPasso sealed the day with lobster linguine, baked fish, and wine of course.
Pro Tip: Don't be afraid to get lost in the city. Stopping to admire beautiful monuments, browsing local grocery stores, discovering hidden libraries and taking cafe breaks is how you get to appreciate the local culture.

Day 2: Day Trip to Naples & Pompeii
We took the early train to Naples and headed straight to Pompeii for a guided tour of the ancient ruins. Afterward? A long, lazy lunch and wine tasting at a vineyard on Mount Vesuvius. If you're thinking about skipping this—don't. The combination of history + wine + views was unreal.
Pro Tip: Pompeii with a guided tour is going to be 10x better than without. I am a big believer in some self-guided sightseeing on vacation, but not here. There are not any signs or annotations that describe the exhibits so you likely won't understand what you're looking at without a guide. But once you do - it's SO cool.

Day 3: Colosseum & Roman Baths
We stepped into gladiator mode with a small-group tour of the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill (history nerds, this one's for you). After, we detoxed the tourist energy with a super luxe spa afternoon at Six Senses Rome. The contrast? Chef’s kiss.
Pro Tip: I highly recommend visiting the Colosseum early in the morning or at last entry as the Colosseum gets super crowded. You don't want to wait until the last minute to buy tickets and I highly suggest booking a tour for skip-the-line access and oral storytelling that takes you on a journey through ancient Rome.
If you want to stay at the Six Senses Rome, book with me so you don't miss out on these free perks (hotel only bookings always come at no extra cost to you):
Upgrade on arrival, subject to availability
Daily breakfast for up to two guests per bedroom, served in the restaurant
$100-200 USD hotel credit to be utilized during stay
Early check-in / Late check-out, subject to availability

Day 4: Hidden Gems & The Vatican
Up early for a peaceful Trevi Fountain moment before the crowds hit, then we made our way through the Pantheon and stopped for lunch at Peppo al Cosimato in Trastevere. The highlight? A private Vespa tour through Rome's backstreets, followed by a golden hour visit to the Vatican Museums. As a person that doesn't always love traditional museums - the Vatican was a must-see.
Pro Tip: Book you Vatican tickets or better yet - take a small group tour. You'll get skip-the-line tickets plus an oral history that enriches the experience. Opt for early morning or last entry to beat crowds.

Days 5-8: The Italy Girl’s Trip Itinerary Continues—Florence, Wine Country & Pasta Nights
The second half of our Italy itinerary took us north to Tuscany, where every day felt like a Pinterest board. Think art, sunset wine tours, rooftop yoga, and handmade pasta. This part of the trip was all about slowing down and soaking up that signature Tuscan magic—with a glass of Chianti in hand, obviously.
Pro Tip: I suggest booking train tickets through the Trainline or ItaliaRail 2-3 months in advance. Tickets will get more expensive the longer you wait to book. Arrive to Roma Termini early to have a glass of wine in their food hall before your train.
Need a place to stay in Florence? I have curated a list of my favorite hotels here.

Day 5: Foodie Experiences
We arrived in Florence and hit the ground running with a sunset food and wine tour through the Oltrarno neighborhood which is located on the opposite side of the river from the main attractions like the Duomo. This is a much more local neighborhood with lots of bars and restaurants. From gnudi pasta to homemade gelato, it was a delicious intro to Florence and a fun way to get oriented with the city’s best local eats.

Day 6: Museums & Yoga
Started the day with the Accademia Gallery (which I would honestly skip unless you are REALLY into renaissance art - there are much better museums in Florence). We followed with lunch at a tiny osteria, Ristorante Borgo Antico. The dishes are basic, but homey and absolutely delicious. Then we visited Gucci Gardens for some fashion inspo before ending the day with rooftop yoga and dinner under the stars. Yes, it was just as dreamy as it sounds.

Day 7: Day Trip to Chianti
This evening in Chianti was one of the most beautiful parts of the trip. We left Florence in the late afternoon and drove through rolling hills and vineyards just as the sun began to set. Our guide took us on a tour of two wineries, where we sipped bold Tuscan reds, tasted fresh olive oil, and wandered through the vines with a glass in hand.
The golden light, the views, the local cheeses.. it was peak Italy. We ended the evening with a photo op overlooking the countryside. Slow, scenic, and absolutely unforgettable.

Day 8: Art, Shopping & Pasta
Friday was for fashion, art, and carbs. We popped into Tracey Emin's Sex & Solitude art exhibition and spent the afternoon shopping and dining. We had the best spaghetti lunch at Trattoria Nella. Later that night, we had the most fun pasta-making class followed by cocktails at Rasputin, a hidden speakeasy with serious moody vibes. I would show some pictures, but they weren't allowed inside. But picture a secret underground renaissance cocktail bar - it was a 10/10.
And just like that… your dreamy 8-day Italy girls’ trip is basically planned. The museums, the pasta, the rooftop wine moments—it’s giving main character energy.
But the real flex?
Letting someone else handle the details while you just show up, look cute, and make core memories.
Because let’s be honest—trip planning these days? It’s a part-time job. A million tabs open, reviews you can’t trust, and way too many “must-see” lists to make sense of.
That’s where I come in.
At Truly Travl’d, I take all that off your plate. I’m your go-to travel bestie, crafting unforgettable itineraries for busy people who want their vacations to feel luxe, seamless, and so them—not like they were pulled from page one of a Google search.
Here’s what you get when we work together:
A personalized itinerary that fits your vibe, not some generic checklist
Access to my curated recs + insider upgrades you won’t find online
On-call support while you travel (yes, even if your train gets canceled or you need a last-minute dinner res)
Sound like your kind of getaway? Let’s plan a trip you’ll still be talking about next year.
